Alternatives to Harvest, Clockify, Toggl and Bonsai

If you're looking at another time tracking or invoicing tool, this page sums up four that people often compare with Clockaroo: what each does well, where we differ, and where to read more. Prices are list prices from each vendor's own pricing page on the date given.

We make Clockaroo, a time tracking and invoicing app. We are not affiliated with Harvest, Clockify, Toggl or Bonsai. Their names are trademarks of their owners, and we use them only to compare.

Harvest

What it does well: detailed invoicing, with online payments, recurring invoices, retainers and estimates.

Where we differ: Harvest's Teams plan starts at $11 per seat a month, or $9 billed yearly, and adds usage charges for active projects, clients, tasks and invoicing whose rates aren't published. Its interface is in English only. Clockaroo charges per person and nothing per project, client or invoice, works in English, German, Dutch and French, and imports your Harvest history through the Harvest API. Prices as of October 21, 2026.

Clockify

What it does well: a free plan for time tracking, paid plans from $3.99 per user a month billed annually, and an interface in five languages.

Where we differ: Clockify's free plan has no invoicing; invoices start on its Standard plan at $5.49 per user a month billed annually, or $6.99 monthly, and Peppol e-invoicing is a paid add-on. Clockaroo costs more per person, includes invoicing on every plan (Free covers one person with up to 5 invoices a month), and sends XRechnung or ZUGFeRD files for business clients in Germany and Austria at no extra charge. You can import a Clockify CSV export. Prices as of October 21, 2026.

Toggl Track

What it does well: a free plan for up to 3 users, desktop and mobile apps, and planning, time off and profitability tools on its paid plans.

Where we differ: Toggl Track makes an invoice from a report as a PDF with a fixed layout and doesn't save it, and its approvals and profitability reports start on Premium at $16 per user a month billed annually. Clockaroo costs less per person, includes approvals and profit on Team, keeps every issued invoice, and sends XRechnung or ZUGFeRD files for business clients in Germany and Austria. You can import a Toggl Track CSV export. Prices as of October 24, 2026.

Bonsai

What it does well: the client side of the work: proposals, contracts, forms, scheduling, a CRM and a client portal, next to time tracking and invoicing.

Where we differ: invoicing starts on Bonsai's Essentials plan at $25 per user a month, or $19 billed annually. Clockaroo has none of the client-side tools; it keeps to time, approvals, budgets, profit and invoices, for one price per person. Prices as of October 24, 2026.
