A Harvest time tracking alternative with one price per person

Clockaroo is time tracking and invoicing for freelancers and small teams who bill by the hour. You pay per person who tracks time, with no charges for projects, clients, tasks or invoices. Below is a side-by-side comparison with Harvest, including the things Harvest has and we don't. Harvest facts as of October 21, 2026.

We make Clockaroo and are not affiliated with Harvest. Harvest is a trademark of its owner, and we name it only to compare.

Who switches, and why

On Flex billing, Harvest now bills usage on projects, clients, tasks and invoicing on top of seats, and it doesn't publish those rates. Some long-time customers reported renewal quotes many times their old bill. The details, with sources and a calculator, are on our Harvest pricing page. If your Harvest bill now depends on how many projects and clients you have, a flat price per person is the main difference Clockaroo offers.

What Harvest does that we don't

Harvest has been around since 2006 and covers more ground. If you rely on expenses with receipts, estimates, online card payments, native desktop and mobile apps, timesheet approvals, project budgets or integrations with accounting and project tools, Harvest has them and Clockaroo doesn't yet. Harvest also keeps shipping: in 2026 it added an MCP server and an option to pass payment fees on to clients, and it is rolling out Peppol sending.

Clockaroo also has limits of its own: invoicing works for businesses based in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Ireland and the United States. Elsewhere you can track time and export your hours for now.

What Clockaroo does

Switching from Harvest

After you sign up, open Settings and choose "Import from Harvest". You need a personal access token and your account ID from the Developers section of Harvest ID, created by an Administrator. The import reads Harvest through its API and changes nothing there. It brings over people (matched by email), clients, projects, tasks, hourly rates, time entries with their Harvest rate, and issued invoices as a read-only archive with their payments. Drafts stay in Harvest, and Harvest's task rates have no equivalent here.

What comes over, what stays behind and each step: step-by-step: import from Harvest. More on Harvest's billing is on our Harvest time tracking pricing page.
