Bonsai pricing in 2026: the four plans per user
Bonsai, the client and project management software, has four plans: Basic, Essentials, Premium and Elite. Each is priced per user per month, with a lower price when you pay annually. Below are the prices and plan contents as Bonsai's pricing page shows them on October 24, 2026, and what a team of 1 to 10 people pays.

The four plans

Bonsai's toggle for annual billing says “Up to 4 months free”. On Essentials the annual price is $19 instead of $25 a month, which is $72 less per user over a year.
What a team pays per month
Our arithmetic on Bonsai's list prices: price per user times the number of people. Essentials is the lowest plan whose list includes invoicing; Elite counts at least 3 users.

For example, a team of 5 on Essentials pays $125 a month, or $95 a month when billed annually ($1,140 a year). On Premium the same team pays $195 or $145.
Things to know before you pick a plan
- Invoicing starts at Essentials. Basic's list covers time tracking and projects; “Invoices & Payments” first appears in the Essentials list.
- Elite needs at least 3 users, so its lowest monthly bill is $177, or $147 billed annually.
- Teams of 30 or more: the page says a “Reduced rate available for teams with 30+ users” and gives no figure.
- Payment fees: Bonsai charges processing fees for online payments, which “vary depending on the payment method used”. The page refers to a help article for the rates.
- Trial: 7 days with “full, unlimited access”; after that you choose a plan and enter card details.
Comparing Bonsai with a time tracking and invoicing app
Bonsai covers more of the client side than Clockaroo does: proposals, contracts, forms, scheduling, a CRM and a client portal. Clockaroo has none of these. It does time tracking for teams and turns tracked hours into invoices, with reports on billable hours, budgets, costs and profit, and time approvals. For businesses in Germany and Austria that bill business clients there, each invoice also goes out as an XRechnung or ZUGFeRD file, checked before it's sent. Invoicing works for businesses in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, the UK, Ireland and the US.
If that is the part you need, the table below puts the two prices side by side. Both are per person; neither charges per client or project. Bonsai adds processing fees on online payments; we charge nothing per invoice.
